On 29th August 2024, S3’s inaugural Swing for S3: Charity Golf Fundraiser was held at the Sentosa Golf Club’s Serapong Course!
Over 130 players began the day with a hearty lunch and a special goodie bag consisting of sponsored items, including sunscreens, a $20 Adidas voucher, a sleeve of golf balls, and even a 1-year digital subscription for Golf Asia Magazine.
Together with special guest Mr Lam Chih Bing, former Singapore pro-golfer, the players teed-off towards the cause of stroke prevention, recovery, support, and reintegration. They also challenged themselves in the various novelty games prepared across the course, where exciting prizes awaited winners. Players also enjoyed the game with stunning views and an assortment of refreshments on the Serapong to beat the heat, including ice cream and satay.

After an eventful tournament, we welcomed our Guest of Honour, Mr Gan Kim Yong, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry, to unwind with us in a special dinner alongside Chairman of S3, Ms Chang Hwee Nee.
Mr Gan had inaugurated S3’s first Wellness Centre at Enabling Village in 2016. A highlight of the night included the unveiling of our S3@Enabling Village’s new centre signage that officially recognises us as a Centre for Stroke Recovery, reflecting our expanded suite of services dedicated to supporting the stroke community.
As a token of appreciation, stroke survivor and S3 employee Mr Patrick Chiam presented Mr Gan with a handcrafted wallet that symbolised S3’s gratitude for DPM’s support and commitment.

Alongside several performances by a special 3-piece band, we also welcomed the winners from the earlier tournament’s novelty games to congratulate them for an excellent game. We also held a special lucky draw that saw five lucky winners walk away with exciting prizes, including vouchers worth over $200 and even a queen-sized mattress, before the night ended with a rousing round of karaoke.
S3 would like to thank all participants for joining us in our first ever Charity Golf Fundraiser to support the stroke community! Our heartfelt thanks as well to Tote Board for their support, and Golf Asia for being our official media partner.
Finally, this fundraiser would not have been possible without the following sponsors:
