S3's World Stroke Day 2023 celebrations this year have been a great success in not only bringing together our members and their caregivers, but also in raising stroke awareness with the general public!
We held a week-long Stroke Awareness Roadshow at Jurong Point Shopping Centre from 23-29 October 2023 to share all about stroke, such as the common causes, risk factors, and prevention tips with the public. Patrons also had the opportunity to receive a free basic health screening at one of our stations in our efforts to encourage early prevention strategies.
To celebrate World Stroke Day 2023, which falls on 29 October annually, we also planned something extra special: S3 organised a small appreciation ceremony for our donors and partners who have supported us thus far, and also a hearty lunch at Haidilao and Mamma Mia Trattoria E Caffe for our S3 members, caregivers and more! We were honoured to have Mr Desmond Lee, Minister for National Development and Minister-in-Charge of Social Services Integration as our Guest-of-Honour, alongside Mr Patrick Tay, Advisor to Pioneer SMC and Assistant Secretary-General in the NTUC.
S3 is also grateful to Haidilao and Mamma Mia for graciously sponsoring our members' lunch at their respective outlets in Jurong Point, as well as Came Nuts and Mr Yeo's for sponsoring special gifts for our roadshow! We are also honoured to be the beneficiary for Ritual Ruck Club's special rucking event which was organised to raise funds for our members!
Finally, we are especially grateful towards SingHaiyi Group for their generous donation of $300,000 to join our efforts in supporting the stroke recovery journey for persons affected by stroke.
Thank you to all who joined us on this meaningful week! Click this link to check out our full World Stroke Day 2023 album on Facebook!
